In the 1930s, the German-British scientist and chemist Erich Huzenlaub invented a form of parboiling designed to retain more of the nutrients in rice, now known as the Huzenlaub Process. Besides increasing rice's nutritional value, it also made it resistant to weevils and reduced cooking time. Stamped on the base with the year of production, 1989, this vintage Uncle Bens rice tin is in near mint condition. There are no dents or signs of rust on this tin. Some light patina and hints of use wear at the very most. The lid fits snug and the inside is clean. Pleasant vintage styled artwork throughout. Great for display. Made in Canada.
